Conference Outline
A global conference on industry leadership in Responsible Operations, International Cooperation and Sustainable Solutions for the petroleum sector.
Through responsible actions and close cooperation with all stakeholders the oil and gas industry will be able to contribute to sustainable solutions. The World Petroleum Council will be bringing together industry leaders to discuss and demonstrate the best available technology and practices in order to minimize impacts and risks to the people and environments where we operate around the world. By highlighting the industry’s strategies and sharing best practices, we can contribute to raising the standards across the sector.
Key themes:
1. Engaging Energy Poverty
2. Energy Transitions
3. Industry responses to Climate Change
With global population projected to grow to nearly ten billion by 2050 energy demand continues to rise. All energy sources will be needed to provide affordable, reliable and modern energy services for everyone. The oil and gas sector is at the forefront of creating sustainable energy solutions, reducing energy emissions and increasing energy efficiency.
Cooperation between all stakeholders is key to achieving a successful energy transition to a low-carbon future. At this event we will be looking at how the oil and gas industry is responding to these challenges and leading the way in sharing best practices, engaging local communities and raising standards across its operations in order to ensure smarter, safer and sustainable access to energy for all.
